Do I need to be connected to the internet to use the app?
You need either Wi-Fi or mobile data to join a list, receive notifications, and accept a cancellation spot.
How do I join my doctor’s cancellation list?
Download the app, create an account, and then under the My Waitlists tab, push the blue + symbol and scan the QR code or enter the WTH# from your provider.
What if I’ve lost my Apple ID or App Store password?
You’ll need to reset it through Apple’s website or App Store settings. We can’t reset Apple IDs for you.
What if I don’t see any notifications?
Make sure you’ve allowed notifications for Within The Hour in your phone’s settings.
Can I still use the app if I don’t have a smartphone?
Not at this time. You need a smartphone or iPad/tablet (iOS or Android) to receive notifications but if there’s a close family member who helps you with appointments they might create an account and claim an appointment on your behalf (just make sure they use your name and birthdate)
What if I delete the app by mistake?
You can re-download it from the App Store or Google Play and log back in with the same details.
Is my information safe?
Yes. The app follows strict privacy standards, including HIPAA compliance and is monitored by Vanta for security. The app doesn’t need your medical information, just your name and birthdate.
What if I can’t scan the QR code?
You can manually enter the WTH# your clinic gave you into the app.
What if I don’t have data when I’m out?
You won’t receive alerts without the internet, but as soon as you reconnect to Wi-Fi or data, you’ll get updated.
Can I join more than one doctor’s list?
Yes, you can join multiple lists in the app.
What if I accepted a spot but can’t make it?
Just open the app and cancel as soon as possible, so another patient can take the slot.
Does joining the list guarantee me an earlier appointment?
No. It improves your chances, but it depends on real availability.
Can I leave the list anytime?
Yes. Just tap the 3 dots on the right of the lists you’re following and delete the list.
Will my regular appointment be canceled if I join?
No. You always keep your original appointment unless you accept an earlier one.
